This is the problematic rubber strap that is standard with the Suunto T series. SInce I owned the watch, I had to replace the rubber strap twice!! Every 1 1/2 years it starts to get brittle. I believe Suunto must have had many complaints about the straps. However, no concrete solution have yet to be offered
